Job purpose
To work closely with various business departments and users assessing and analyzing opportunities to improve processes facilitated by JDE and act as the voice of requirements to the North America IT team and Group JDE team.
Duties and responsibilities: Business Process Analysis
Responsible for functional business analysis, requirements definition, and validation for our ERP systems focusing on JDE.
Developing breadth and depth of knowledge, both system and process, in assigned functional area(s), with a holistic view across broad processes and systems.
Recommending and developing business process improvements for assigned area.
Working with users to identify and recommend desired process modifications and enhancements.
Documenting and modeling business processes and associated data, including both “as-is” current processes and “to-be” improved processes.
Keeping management and users informed of business analysis work progress.
Meeting regularly with North American users and IT Management to discuss, prioritize and report on application enhancements.
Work closely with the North American JDE Application Analyst and Group JDE team responding to incident requests and enhancement opportunities.
Engaging users in reporting the issues and providing timely response back to users.
Engaging other IT resources as needed, documenting issue resolution; analysis of patterns and trends within the requests; properly coding time spent; closing the user tickets according to the agreed timeframes
Working with the other Systems Analysts to implement process and system improvements to reduce/eliminate root causes of incidents.
Communicate, align and train best practices for JDE and ERP processes within North America.
Project Execution
Lead in most cases, or supports the development of project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for assigned projects.
Applying change management procedures on projects to control scope.
Communicating issues and resolution timelines in order to meet project dates, escalating to IT Management when appropriate.
Providing overall project status to project stakeholders and IT Management.
Facilitating documentation and approval of requirements changes of either a business or technical nature, using these change management procedures.
Ensuring proper filing of project documentation in accordance with IT governance.
Requirements Management
Leading users in review of business requirements.
Documenting detailed business requirements in terms of complete work flows, business rules, use cases, data needs, and testing scripts.
Working with users and IT Teams to develop user acceptance test objectives, test plans and test scripts in order to verify and accept that business requirements have been met.met.
Obtaining business approval of the documented requirements.
Reviewing technical analysis documents, test scripts and test results to verify project requirements are understood and addressed completely, correctly and consistently.
Performing unit tests, system tests and user acceptance tests of Information Solutions system changes as agreed in test plans.
Participating in quality reviews of other analysts’ work.
Planning and estimating business analysis work as described above.
Meeting project quality, schedule, and cost commitments, under pressure.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5-10 years enterprise-level JD Edwards IT business analysis experience.
Ideally hands on experience with JDE 9.2.
Ideally working knowledge of transportation and warehouse management systems and their interoperability with JDE.
Strong communication skills to multiple levels of the organization.
Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Visio.
